Call for papers

The Organizers of the IKUWA 4 Conference invite the participants to send a short abstract of their proposed paper.

Topic

"Managing the underwater cultural heritage"

The main theme on management of the underwater cultural heritage shall cover the whole field of the underwater archaeology from submerged prehistoric landscapes to historic shipwrecks, harbour installations etc. and therefore covers sub-themes such as:

good practice

• how to do a management plan, examples
• large scale construction projects e.g. pipelines, cables, harbours, windfarms

in situ preservation, pro & contra

public access, awareness and education

research strategies for management decisions

post excavation strategies

• conservation and restoration
• analysis
• research
• publication
• storage

Dates

A call for papers is now prolonged to a final deadline on February 15^th 2011. Please send us the registration form before the deadline expires [link].

Abstracts

We expect the abstracts to be written in max. 200 words in English language with the names, institutions and contact addresses of the authors. Documents must be sent in Word (.doc) or PDF (.pdf) format. The abstracts are subject to review by the Steering committee of the IKUWA 4.
