Underwater research of port Veštar completed
The last campaign of underwater archaeological research in the Bay of Vestar near Rovinj, lasted from 19th to 25th of May 2013, as a continuation of research which began in 2008. Research was conducted by the International Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Zadar, UNESCO Category II Centre. The project also involved the Bavarian Society of Underwater Archaeology and Heritage Museum of Rovinj with the continued support of the Tourist Association of City of Rovinj. In this year's campaign 11 divers and underwater archaeologists as long as several land archaeologists participated. |

Kemer held UNESCO Unitwin meeting
First UNESCO Unitwin meeting of the network of universities in the field of underwater archology was held in Kemer (Antalya), Turkey from 15th to 18th of May 2013. The meeting was organized by UNESCO and Seljuk University, with the support of many local institutions and organizations. The network was founded by a group of four universities, and one of the main themes of the meeting were modes of network expansion, as representatives from 30 other universities and institutions from all over the world attended. |

NAS Introduction and Part I courses have finished in Zadar
From the 6th to 8th May 2013 International Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Zadar (ICUA) carried out its first courses int his year according to Nautical Archaeological Society (NAS) underwater archeology program. NAS Introduction to Foreshore and Underwater Archaeology and NAS Part I Certificate in Foreshore and Underwater Archaeology were finalized. Courses consisted of theoretical part in the ICUA classroom in Zadar, and practical lessons in underwater site at bay Sv. Bartul in Petr?ane near Zadar. |

An important international congress on amphorae held in Cyprus
Organized by the University of Cyprus and their M.A.R.E. Lab, in Lefkosia (Nicosia), Cyprus, through 12-15 April 2013, an important conference entitled "Per Terram, Per Mare" was held. Theme of the congress was the production and transport of Roman amphorae in the Eastern Mediterranean, as part of the ROMACY project. At the congress there were around hundred of experts from around twenty countries of Europe and the U.S. In addition to the latest news from the study of amphora's it was possible to see and hear a lot during the workshop on chemical and petrographic composition of clay amphorae from the eastern Mediterranean. |

ESDP meeting at ICUA Zadar
The International Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Zadar hosted a meeting of European umbrella association of scientific divers, European Scientific Diving Panel (ESDP) on 20th and 21st March 2013. This alliance of associations and organizations of the European states was organized under the European Marine Board's (EMB). The goal of the ESDP is to gather scientific divers across Europe, to agree on common standards, improve co-operation and the profession and to impact future European legislation that will cover this aspect of diving. |

In Poseidons Reich XVIII conference ended
In Kelten Römer Museum in the Manching (Bavaria, Germany) on Sunday 03/17/2013, eighteenth annual conference of German and foreign underwater archaeologists, in the organization of DEGUWA, has finished. The event was held under the motto Navigare necesse est, est vivere non necesse and the topic were supply of Rome and its provinces, and the logistics of the Roman Empire and its fleet. At the conference were hundreds of guests, and among most numerous German archaeologists, a number of foreign experts from 15 countries attended. |
